Question parents frequently ask

How Do I Enroll?

As an independent charter school, we are required to hold a lottery for admission when we have more applicants then we do open seats. We have held a lottery every year since day one.

To submit an application please click the link on this page.

When is the application period?

Our lottery opens at 8 am on October 1st and closes at 3 pm on the second Friday in Febraury every year. Our lottery is held on the first Friday in March for the upcoming academic year.

What is the lottery?

The lottery process is conducted fairly and transparently, with each applicant assigned a random number that determines their place in the lottery. The lottery is overseen by a third-party organization to ensure integrity and fairness. Students who are not selected in the lottery are placed on a waiting list in the order in which they were drawn.

When will I know if my student was accepted?

Participants will receive an email and text message about the lottery results within a day of the lottery. Families chosen must accept the spot within a set time and complete enrollment. Applicants will be put on a waitlist in the order they were drawn. Waitlisted applicants will receive an additional communication to further follow-up on the waitlist status in the upcoming days and weeks following the lottery. The waitlist status of applicants will change rapidly with the acceptances and declines of seats. You can view your application status 24/7 by logging into your SchoolMint account.

What do I need for the lottery?

After submitting an application, there is nothing further you need to do for the lottery.

Families can prepare themselves for enrollment at any public school by obtaining all the necessary documents, these include:

  1. Immunization records (must be up to date!)
  2. Proof of Age Verification (passport, birth certificate, etc)
  3. Copies of Guardian Identification (CA ID, Passport, etc)
  4. Additional documents as needed (IEPs, 504 Plans, Custody Documentation, etc.)
